Sherri (Bomgaars) Lewis

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Sherri Bomgaars Lewis, who departed this world on Friday, October 27, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. Sherri was born to her parents, Margaret and Edward Lenning on November 13, 1942, in Clear Lake, Iowa.

She and her husband Robert Bomgaars ran the Bomgaars Family Center while raising their family in Algona, Iowa. She moved to San Antonio with her family in 1984 where she and her family built Bomgaars Medical. Some of her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren, her loving husband Bill and her book club, where she freely performed her stand up comedy routines. Through the trying times of her illness, she always took comfort in the relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Those who knew Sherri cherished the laughter and light she brought into every room.

Sherri is survived by her beloved husband, William R. Lewis; her children, Jayne Brayton and Jay Bomgaars (Teri); her grandchildren, Bailey Osinulu (Afolabi), Ryan Brayton (Carla), Jake Bomgaars, Hayden Bomgaars and Serena Killingham, her brother Don Lenning (Donna), great grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
