Sheryl, my friend, it is hard to imagine this world without you. Such a special and loving person you were. A kind, giving soul, so much deeper and loving than you allowed to be seen by many. Although we drifted apart with my move to Austin, my memories are of a friendship of many years. Of long talks at your townhome, to planning parties for the single women's society - we did have some fun, didn't we? I pulled out some old photos - you, John, Joe and me, Barry, Karen, Pam and Jimmy - to name a few. Whether we were lying in the sun at the lake, or having dinner at your house or our house, you were always smiling and laughing and enjoying your time with your friends. You just had this presence about you. As great as it was Sheryl, and as much as we laughed and made incredible memories along the way, there were difficult times too. Heartaches and pain and a body that simply could not hold your magnificent spirit any longer, and would not leave you alone. Those times of pain are over now Sheryl. You are at peace. You are resting with our loving Father for eternity. That brings me so much comfort to know you are there with Him; safe and out of pain. Your life encompassed much, much more than this that I type, my friend. Throughout your life you touched and changed peoples lives. You loved and cared for so many people, giving so much of yourself. All of the people you made comfortble with your smile and sense of humor and wit, it was disarming - we will all miss you more than we can say. Thank you Sheryl for those long talks and wonderful memories. Thank you for the fun times and the hard times; thank you for the time I had to spend with you as my friend. Mrs. Halbardier, Toni and Malcom, I am so sorry for your pain and heartache with Sheryl's passing on, and pray God's love and mercy will comfort you during these difficult times. Dear Mrs. Barbara Halbardier and Family, 
 Please accept my condolences. Sheryl and I worked together for RCA during Hemisfair in 1968. We wore those short-white Bonwit Teller dresses with the black RCA emblems embroidered on them. Needless to say, those dresses made quite an impression on the fairgoers. Sheryl was such a beautiful person inside and out. San Antonio has lost one of its truly vibrant citizens.

She got me involved in the San Antonio Single Women's Society and other social events that changed my life. I will never forget how much fun we had. She will always be fondly thought of by me.

Malcolm: So sorry to hear about Sheryl. When we were all in high school and I'd go out with Sheryl and you'd go out with Linda, I always felt special because she was so pretty and sincere. Years later, I'd run into Sheryl here and there and the convesation would turn to my asking about you and she always made clear how much she loved you and respected you.
