Shirley J. Burns passed away on Friday, November 5 in Cedar Park, Texas. She was 86 years old. Shirley was born on March 21, 1935 in San Antonio and was a life-long Texan. Shirley lived her life first as a devoted mother, later transitioning to a successful career as a salesperson in the plastics industry, and then finally retiring to enjoy other pursuits. She enjoyed supporting her children in their educational and extracurricular activities, including being a member of the PTA and band parents organization.
Additionally, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and socializing with close friends. Lastly, Shirley was a Christian and living her faith was important to her.
Shirley is preceded in death by her son David Hollingsworth, her brother Larry C. Rogers, and her parents Roger C. Rogers and Mary Evelyn Rogers.
Shirley is survived by her sons Roger A. Hollingsworth and Ross K. Burns, and her daughter Dr. Karen S. Burns.
