Shirley D. Evans, born March 5, 1937, entered rest on Sunday May 20, 2012 at the age of 75. She was born in Victoria, TX to Walter and Agnes Sandhop. She served as a public school teacher prior to spending 19 years as a civil servant at Pearl Harbor, HI. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she also enjoyed reading and was an avid golfer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Evans. She is survived by her sons, Edward, Walter, Robert, Thomas and 10 grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memory are numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 28, 2012 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 9:30am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach.
