Shirley Jean Robinson

Shirley was born in San Antonio to Arthur and Bessie Shell on May 16, 1935. She attended Agnes Cotton elementary school, Mark Twain middle school and Thomas Jefferson high school, all in San Antonio. She married Richard Robinson in 1959 in San Antonio. She worked as a bank clerk at Frost Bank for 7 years.

Shirley was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Shell, her father, Arthur Shell, and sisters Dorothy Powers and Virginia Shell.

Shirley is survived by her son, Dale Robinson, nieces Myia Houser, Janet Rushmore, and Christina Larsen, their spouses, children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 10 at Sunset Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, October 10 at Sunset Funeral Home with Bill Shockley officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Sunset Funeral Home.

The family of Shirley Robinson wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the many compassionate professionals who were involved in Shirley’s care: the nursing staff at Morningside Manor nursing home, the patient care staff at St. Luke’s Baptist Hospital, and the specialists at Trinity Hospice, who kept Shirley comfortable during her final days of life.
