Shirley Bernhard Schaefer

She was born in Fredericksburg, Texas on January 22, 1935. She graduated from Fredericksburg High School and received a nursing degree from the Baptist School of Nursing in San Antonio, Texas. She served as a Registered Nurse for the Skinner Clinic in San Antonio, Texas for 35 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lydia Knoche Bernhard and Rubin E. Bernhard, Sr.; her husband, Richard C. Schaefer; her siblings, Annabel Wuest, Dorothy Tinney and brother E. Rubin Bernhard, Jr. M.D.

She was survived by her three children Richard (sp. Tish) Grill, Sharon (sp. David) Trevino and Ted Grill; her grandchildren John Grill and Tracy Haver, Leslie Schwartz, Lauren and Lillian Trevino, Walker and Cooper Grill and, her great grandchildren Peyton Grill, Lincoln and Cameron Haver, Stetson Grill, Sawyer and Cooper Schwartz.

The following services have been scheduled: Church service at Bethany Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg, Texas on January 26, 2023 starting at 11:00 a.m. Burial immediately following at Der Stadt Friedhof, 510 E. Schubert St. in Fredericksburg, TX.
