As I get older, situations such as this occur only too frequent. The sad think is I just now found out about Sid's passing. My wife and I were out this evening, celebrating our 42nd wedding anniversary. We were talking about people we had known and has lost touch. Sid's name came up because he was the best man at my wife's and my wedding in Chicago in 1971. I am very saddened to learn of his passing and that I didn't get a chance to meet up with him one more time.

I just learned of Sid's passing. We worked together at SWBT in Dallas and shared the love of cats and jazz. He would "babysit" my kitties when I traveled and I did the same for his. Even though our paths would have never crossed again, he will always have a special place in my memory.

I knew Sid from Rutgers EE program. He helped me a lot when others would not take the time. I eventually went into the ME program. I used to work on his 1961 Buick and he stayed at my parents home in Dunellen, NJ for a summer while he worked at Burroughs Electronics in Warren, NJ. He rode a Honda motorcycle to work and smoked cigars. We even double dated some neighborhood girls and took them to the Jersey Shore. Before he went into tne millitary for active duty he bought a 1970 Dodge Charger with a 4 speed, pistol grip shifter, he loved that car. He drove it to Texas and put the car into storage. When he came out of the army, he drove the car back to NJ and I did some work on the power windows. He always had a funny story to tell about what happened that day. He would throw his hands around to tell his story; he made me laugh. He was a gentleman in every way possible. I was extremely sadden by his passing. He will be missed.

I was so sorry this holiday season to find out that Sid had passed away. Sid and I served in the Army together at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. Sid was my roommate for a number of months and we enjoyed all the "joys" of the Army and life on the Jersey Shore. Lt. Lindheim was like myself we served in the Army as officers but were not career officers so we could laugh together at all the insanity of a big organization like the Army and enjoy our adventures in those years. Sid went off to Korea and so we parted Army company but over the years we shared visits and all sorts of phone calls and later emails. I will miss Sid he was a great "Jersey" guy in the best sense and was always full of honest opinions and all sorts of other conversation. Sid you are gone from us in an earthly sense but will always be part of my life. I salute you Sid for the last time.

How very sad we are today. When our good friends, Jack and Sandi Browning, informed us of Sid's passing, we were so taken back. We just didn't expect to hear that news as we began the new year. We loved Sid and so enjoyed our college years together with him. We shared many experiences and laughs together. It's probably not well known, but Sid and a childhood friend, Joan Elko, traveled together and spent three days at Woodstock which remains the best known musical gathering in history. They were an unlikely pair who brought that festival to life for us through their eyes. Sadly, she is also gone; however, the memories linger. A smile also comes to my face as I recall meeting Sid for lunch in Dallas when I attended a NEA Convention in 1978. He already had perfected his Texan accent which delighted me. Even though he chose to contact us infrequently over the years, we never failed to send him a holiday greetings card each year updating him on our lives. We respected his privacy but missed him so much. May he rest in peace knowing that we will never forget him.

Sorry to find out that Sid died. i went to Passaic High with Sid. He was a great guy.

Please bear with me as I just found out of Sid's passing and am deeply saddened.I will always remember my good friend Sid. He was very smart and knowledgeable on so many issues, and deeply thoughtful. We had been close cohorts on many adventures years ago. I am only sorry that we were separated by such a great distance. Sid and I went to high school together and then went on to be room mates at Rutgers and have shared great memories and moments together over the years. Sid was a member in my wedding party in 1970. I am so sorry - I wish he had told me more. I often called him, but as of late this past year he returned my call once. We often invited him back to NJ to spend some time with us at the beach using my airline miles but he never seemed to be inclined. He spoke of his family often. 
I apologize for sending this so late but his answering machine was not picking up (which it always did) and I wanted to wish him a happy New Year. I found the notice on the internet. 
My sincere condolences to all of his family. We will both miss him very much. With Deepest Sympathy
