Simon Gomez Alvarado

Simon Gomez Alvarado, 85, of San Antonio, Texas, went to be with the Lord on November 13, 2025, joining his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Maria Elena Alvarado. Simon was born on February 15, 1940, in Poteet, Texas. Simon lived a full and hardworking life grounded in faith, family, and dedication.

A proud 1958 graduate of South San High School, Simon began his professional journey as a home builder with Ray Ellison Homes before pursuing his dream of establishing his own home construction business. He took great pride in his craft and in helping families build their futures, beginning with the forever home he built from the ground up for his own family, a place that would hold a lifetime of love and memories. In his early years, he enjoyed spending time with loved ones, taking trips to the coast, and sharing hunting adventures with friends and family.

Simon was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Maria Alvarado; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard & Celia, Eloy & Mary Lou, Erasmo & Socorro; and his brother Raymond Alvarado.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Belinda & Tommy Ramos, Rebecca & Ronald O’Con, and Maricela & David Nasis; his grandchildren Desiree & James Ramirez, Dominique & Ryan Lewis, Derek, Cerissa, and Simon Nasis. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Anselmo & Grace Alvarado, sister-in-law Anita Alvarado, and brother- and sister-in-law Roger and Delfina Tejeda.

Visitation and Rosary will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 4–10 p.m., with the Rosary recited at 7 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lawrence Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at El Carmen Cemetery located at 18555 Leal Rd., San Antonio, TX 78221.
