

She was a community leader who gave generously of her time on the Board of Governors at the Cancer Therapy Research Center CTRC and Founder of The Patient Escort Program at CTRC. She also served as President of Jewish Federation of San Antonio, Founding Mother of the San Antonio Leadership 100, was past President of the Cancer Center Council, was Volunteer of the Year of the Cancer Center Council, and Honoree of the National Conference of Christians and Jews.
Mrs. Sugerman was an instructor at Trinity University and St. Mary's University, Education Director of Planned Parenthood of San Antonio and was Executive Director of the Arthritis Foundation of San Antonio.
She was an avid bridge and tennis player.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sidney L. Weiss.
She is survived by her husband, Charles F. Sugerman; son, Jeffrey L. Sugerman and wife, Deborah; daughter, Debra I. Sugerman; son, David F. Sugerman and wife, Janet Byrd; son, Robert W. Sugerman and wife, Susan; brother, Sid C. Weiss and wife, Leslie; mother, Rosaline F. Weiss; grandchildren, Noah, Jacob, Samuel, Gabriella, Ian, Adam and Seth; aunt, Marion F. Hillman and husband, Stuart; uncle, Leon Frieden; nieces, Lori Stahl, Cathy Golden, Sheri Fleishman, Susan Davidson; and nephew, Sidney A. Weiss.
