Sonja Lee Steves, age 77, passed away July 26, 2015, in San Antonio. Sonja was "the hostess with the mostest" – very outgoing, a zest for life, family and friends. She enjoyed crafts and excelled at it. She was a former President of FLMI Society, Hospitality Club and other organizations. Sonja loved to play bridge and do the New York Times crossword puzzle. She loved the Dallas Cowboys and was a loyal fan. Both she and her husband loved to dance and dancing is a happy memory of them.
Sonja was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Colonel Walter T. Steves. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara McCauley and husband Chuck, Cindy Anthony, and Dawn Oppermann; sons, Walter T. Steves, Jr., and Jerry Steves and wife Laura; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
