He was born April 20, 1927, in New York City.
At the age of 17, he joined the Army and proudly served his country for over 30 years, with tours of duty in Korea and Vietnam. He retired at the rank of Colonel and was a physician specializing in internal medicine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin M. and Anne Harris, and his brother Richard L. Harris and wife Christina.
He is survived by his brother, Martin E. Harris; niece, Rachel Harris-Betsill and husband Tommy; nephew, Brian Harris; great-nephew, Richard Danny Thomas Betsill.
