

1SG. Stanley James Silva, 74, US Army, retired, passed away at home surrounded by his family, on Friday, January 30, 2015. Stan served 22 years in the military, US Army, serving in the Infantry, Artillery, Nuclear Weapons and retired as an 1SG. Stan also worked for the US army, Ft. Sam Houston, JATT Program and retired as a GS-12 after 22 years. He also volunteered at Main Post Chapel for over 30 years.
He was a wonderful loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed. He was loved by family and friends. He became a Christian over 40 years ago and has now gone home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Mary Ann Rogers Silva; daughter, Jessica Mary Silva; grandchildren, Gracie Ann Silva and Gabriel James Silva. The visitation will begin on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015 at 8:45 AM followed by the funeral service at 9:45 AM at the Main Post (Gift Chapel), 1605 Wilson Way on Ft. Sam Houston. Civilian attendees need to obtain a pass at the Visitor’s Center at the Walters Street Gate.
