Stef was born September 16, 1916 to Mary and Szymon C. Kozak in Cleveland Ohio.
She married Stanley Anthony Karpowicz on May 12, 1945 in Ohio. They lived in Ohio until about 1952 when they moved to San Antonio, Texas.
Stef was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband Stan, in 1999; brother, Thomas F. Kozak, in 1966 and sister, Jay (Genevieve) Jones in 2010.
She is survived by sons, Gregory Karpowicz of San Antonio, Martin Karpowicz and his wife, Ann, of Arlington Texas; grandson, Scott Thomas Karpowicz and sister, Anne Konicki of West Carrollton, Ohio.
