Stella P. Klonek, age 85, of San Antonio passed away Monday, June 15, 2009 at St. Luke's Baptist Hospital, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born in Los Angeles, CA on January 31, 1924. She served her country faithfully during WWII in the U.S. Army WAC, serving in New Guinea. Stella was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. She loved to visit Port Aransas through the years. The family would like to thank Julie Booth with Hospice Inspiris for her compassionate care. Stella is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew P. Padilla and Ricarda R. Persona. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joe O. Klonek; daughter, Katherine Susan Klonek; brothers, Andrew T. Padilla and Henry Padilla; numerous nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews and two great-great nephews.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 8115 Datapoint Dr., San Antonio, TX 78229 in Stella Klonek's name.
