

Stella Helen Rodriguez, born on September 25, 1929, in San Antonio, Texas, was called home to be with our Lord on September 23, 2024, at the age of 94. Her sister, Yolanda, was at her side thanking God for her life and reciting Psalm 23 and the Lord's Prayer. Stella is reunited in Heaven with her husband, Jose Quevedo Rodriguez and parents Joe Farias Borrego and Socorro Chavez Borrego. She is loved and will be greatly missed by her sister Yolanda Borrego, her god-daughter Elizabeth Trejo and numerous cousins and friends.
On August 11, 1956, at La Trinidad United Methodist Church, San Antonio, Texas, Stella married the love of her life, Jose Q. Rodriguez. They made a honeymoon trip to Colorado. Over the years ahead they would continue their travels to many U.S. cities, Mexico and on cruises. Stella grew up in a loving Christian home. Her family were active members of La Trinidad United Methodist Church where she was baptized and married.
Stella graduated in May 1948 from Tech High School, San Antonio, TX. She started her working career in 1950 as a clerk typist at Kelly AFB, San Antonio, TX. In 1970 Stella and Jose re-located to Dallas, TX. She worked as an administrative assistant from 1973-1984 for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in the Regional Office of Facilities, Engineering and Construction, Region VI, Dallas TX.
Her husband worked as a compliance officer for the U.S. Dept. of Labor, Regional Office, Dallas, TX. In 1984 they both retired and returned to San Antonio where they made their home until his passing in 2005.
Stella will forever be remembered for her unwavering love, generosity and grace.Her years were marked by her kindness, empathy, and capacity to bring joy to those around her. Stella's departure leaves an unfillable void in our lives. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all those who were touched by her. We find comfort in the memories and everlasting love we shared and the knowledge she is now in her eternal home with our Lord, Jesus Christ.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to her caregivers, Zuki De La Fuente and Gloria Rodriguez Mayo for their commitment and compassionate care.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
