
Stephen Dorack Lauver, beloved husband, brother, veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 82. Born on April 14, 1943, in Columbus, Ohio, Stephen lived a life defined by dedication, loyalty, and a quiet strength that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, who nurtured in him the values of perseverance, humility, and love that he carried throughout his life. Stephen is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Jacqueline Lauver, whose steadfast partnership brought him immeasurable joy, as well as his sister, Linda, who remained a cherished presence in his life.
A proud Buckeye, Stephen made his mark at Ohio State University, where he set the state scoring record in school lacrosse history—an accomplishment that stood as a testament to his talent, determination, and teamwork. His passion for the sport remained one of his fondest memories and proudest achievements.
Stephen also answered the call to serve his country with honor. During his time in the United States Army, he earned several medals recognizing his courage, discipline, and devotion to duty. His service shaped him profoundly, and he carried that sense of honor and responsibility throughout his life.
At home, Stephen was known for his gentle heart and deep affection for his furry companions, who brought him comfort, laughter, and unconditional love.
Stephen’s legacy is one of integrity, kindness, and an enduring commitment to the people he loved. He will be remembered for his warm smile, his unwavering loyalty, and the quiet but powerful way he made the world better simply by being in it.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
