Stephen Wayne McCormick

Stephen W. “Steve” McCormick, age 75 passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, William, and Shirley McCormick. He is survived by his wife, Katrina, and children, Julie, and Ryan. Julie and her husband, Russell, have 3 daughters, Sarah, Emily, and Claire. Ryan and his wife, Jill, have two daughters, Kate and Paige. Steve also leaves his sister, Kathleen, and her family as well as other extended family.

Steve grew up in Dallas through 9th grade and then moved to Houston. He graduated from Memorial High School and attended Southern Methodist University where he studied mechanical engineering. After college, Steve worked in Houston managing mechanical groups at several companies over the years.

He moved to San Antonio after retirement to be near family and loved every minute of it. He loved attending various events for his grandchildren and spending time with the family. He also enjoyed golfing with a group of friends. Steve was never without a project – from building things, to landscaping, to repairs – he enjoyed staying busy and wasn’t afraid to tackle any project.
