battle with COVID-19.
He was born to parents Joe Wagner and Thelma Louise Wagner Meyer on July 29, 1953 in San
Antonio, Texas.
Steve brought so much light and laughter into the world. He was a loving husband, father,
Papaw, brother, uncle, nephew, friend and made everyone feel like family. Steve was a man of
God who led his family in faith and would pray the rosary daily. He was a selfless man and
would do whatever he could to help others. Steve loved spending his time sitting on the balcony
at Rockport watching the ships go by, escaping to the “Beer Lease”, and drinking White
Russians at Margaret’s Playhouse. You could find Steve behind the BBQ pit smoking up his
famous brisket or behind the blender making margaritas for everyone. One of his greatest joys
was spending time with his four wonderful grandchildren. Steve was the hardest worker and
devoted 30 years to Accurate Pest Control. He was able to retire and enjoy every second of the
last year relaxing and spending time with his family and friends.
Steve was married for almost 46 wonderful years to the love of his life, Diane, who survives him.
He is also survived by daughters Kristy Dahlin and husband Kevin and children Kylie and
Kaden, Tiffaney Wagner, Lindsey Moore and husband John Paul and children Aubrey and
Wyatt, and son Chad Wagner. Steve was also survived by siblings Richard Wagner and wife
Wanda, Betty Ann Westerlund, Margaret Wagner, sister and brother-in-laws Karen Wagner,
Cheree Walts, Darlene Brymer and husband David, Renee Hebert and husband Ricky, Julie
Lerma and husband Dan, and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and
friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Thelma, father and mother-in-law
Henry and Joy Ann DeCleene, and siblings Charles Wagner, Larry Wagner, Elaine Wagner
McPherson, and Wayne Wagner.
