

He was born October 22, 1956, in Chicago, and was a 6-year resident of Nevada.
Steve served his country in the US Air Force, retiring as a Major after 24 years of distinguished service. Steve's first love was his family and his devotion was to God.
His passion, though, was flying and he excelled as an Air Force instructor pilot flying and instructing at Randolph AFB, Texas. After his military career, Steve flew as a Boeing 737 Captain and evaluator pilot for URS Corporation.
He loved life and had a fun sense of humor. Memories of Steve will leave smiles on the faces of many.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Berger; daughter, Alicia Berger; parents William and Barbara Berger of Tempe, Arizona; brother, Dan Berger and wife, Liala, of Tempe; sister, Carol Berger and husband, Scott, of Mesa, Arizona; and other family members.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Randolph Air Force Base Chapel I.
