'I was so sad today to read of Steve's passing. Not only did I have a business relationship with Steve through his wallpaper business, but after many personal projects with numerous homes he became a friend. The thing about Steve I loved was his smile (ever present) and his gift of gab. We would get talking and nothing would get done. He always talked about his wife and family fondly in almost every conversation I had with him.

'I am a client of Steve's and I was so saddened to read of his death today. When I met him three years ago it was as if he had walked off of the 1970's Austin "Drag". He was this intellectual, mellow guy who would redecorate for you, and with his wonderful eye for design he artfully transformed three rooms for me. We discussed music, his forays into West Texas to identify rare cactus, his German ancestry, his plans to visit cousins in Germany and his childhood in the Pacific. He also spoke with much affection and pride about his two boys and his successful wife. He called her the "brains in the family". Steve did not live long but it appears that he lived well. He will be so missed.

You are truly blessed to have had 26 yrs. of marriage to such a man as Steve. And Steve was truly blessed to have a wife as wonderful as you. So please accept my condolence to you and your son's Jackson and Graeham. 
Since you will always be a member of the Guam Bomb's family I do look foward to seeing you at future reunions. 
To the Blair and Perez extended families, it is indeed a sad day. To morn is honorable and respectable, but is also OK to turn those tears of sorrow into tears of joy and laughter as you remember all the good times and funny experiences you had with Steve.
