Born in London, England on February 14, 1952 to father Sylvanus and Paulina Dadzie of blessed memory, Steven grew up in London, England; Accra, Ghana (his native land) and New York City, New York as part of his fathers Diplomatic assignment. Most of his formative years were spent in New York where he received his high school diploma from Francis Lewis High School in Queens and his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the City University of New York. Driven in the pursuit of academic excellence, Steven journeyed on to Medford Massachusetts where he obtained a Master of Science degree in Physics. He returned to New York City where he worked for many years as a Process Engineer for the semiconductor manufacturer, General Instruments Corporation of Melville, New York, while finishing an MBA degree in International business at Long Island University in Brookeville, New York. In 1998, Steven decided to leave cold New York to go seek “gold” in the Silicon Valley of sunny California. He worked as a Process Engineer for several high tech semiconductor manufacturing companies including Xicor in Milpitas California, Oxford instruments in Fremont California and Parker Hannifin Veriflo Corporation in Richmond California as Quality Control Engineer. Well-gifted as he was in mathematics and computational science and perhaps enjoying the challenge it offered, he studied statistics as a hobby and eventually became an adjunct statistics and calculus instructor at Chabot College in Hayward California for several years. Not satisfied with his achievements, he topped his academic accolades and pursuit of excellence with a six sigma Black Belt award in Industrial statistics as well as the coveted Quality Control Managerial Certification from the American society for Quality (ASQ).
In January 2007 with “gold” drying out in Silicon Valley, Steven moved to San Antonio, Texas, a city he grew to love. He was employed by Fredericks Engineering as a Chemical Engineer as well as teaching physics at San Antonio and Palo Alto Colleges. He began his own business in 2010, something he had always wanted to do and enjoyed doing till the Lord called him to Heaven.
Steven, a wonderful, loving, family man is survived by his loving wife of 14 years Amira, children: Sara, Steven, Aaron, Isaac and Mariam; brother Amos Dadzie of New York City, sister Sylvia Dadzie of New York City, sister Grace Croffie of Indianapolis, brother-in-law Dr. Joseph Croffie of Indianapolis, sister-in-law Mrs. Lois Dadzie of New York City, multiple nieces and nephews in the United States and several uncles and aunts and other relatives in Ghana. He will be greatly missed.
