

Steven Marquez passed away on September 1st, 2021, at the age 40. He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was called the “The Mad Hatter” for he had the ultimate collection of ball caps! Every day was a “Hat check” and the “Joke of the day”! Steven had a grand passion for all sports! Native to Chicago Steven’s all-time favorite team was the Chicago Bears. He even had a You-Tube channel called “Now and Then Pack Pulls”. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy He served on the USS Nimitz CVN 68 and was stationed in Coronado Island. He served April 2000 to April 2004 during Operation Enduring Freedom (Oct 2001-Dec 2014) and during Operation Iraqi Freedom (March 2003-Nov 2011). He was given a National Defense, Global War on Terrorism Service, and Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary medals for his service. He worked in IT division for Apple and was an electronic wiz. He always had his phones in hand explaining the newest things technology could do.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Richard Farias Jr.
He survived by his wife Tanya Marie and daughter Shayla Marie Marquez; Parents Roberto & Rita Marquez, Patrick & Maria (Godinez) Harrigan; siblings Nathan Fair, Mel Marquez, Jessica Navarro (brother-in-law Felix Navarro), Renee (Harrigan) Freund (brother-in-law Daniel Freund), David Harrigan; nephews and nieces Christian Navarro, Brandyn Navarro, Adrian Navarro, Kandy Navarro, Evyn Navarro, Grace Harrigan, and numerous extended family members.
The family will receive condolences on Sunday, September 12th, 2021 @ 12:00 noon to 5:00pm at Treviño Funeral Home 226 Cupples Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78237 (210-434-0595).
Service to be led by Pastor Keith Sanford @ 3:00pm – 4:00pm
Final respects 4:00pm – 5:00pm
