Stuart Harrison Brooks

Stuart Harrison Brooks, a blessing to all who knew him, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord and his birth parents on Saturday, August 25, 2012. Stu captivated us all with his free spirit, humor and love of life. His big heart and selfless affection for others touched many, provided light to his friends and family, and will live forever in our hearts. Stu, born in Paris, Texas, on August 23, 1986, just turned 26, and was graduating in December from Texas State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science. After this hard earned achievement, he was looking forward to furthering his graduate education at a law school as the next step to attaining his goal of becoming a lawyer. Stuart is preceded in death by his mother, Susan Kay Harris Brooks, and father, Dr. Kenneth Dean Brooks. He is survived by his Grandmother (and loving mother substitute for many wonderful years), Joan Howell Brooks of San Antonio; his sister, Katherine Brooks Coffey of Dallas, Tx; his aunts and uncles, Benjamin and Hebe Brooks of Houston, Tx, David and Julie Brooks of Dallas, Tx, and Edward and Gail Hervey of Rockwall, Tx; cousins Dr. Christopher and Lauren Brooks of Fayetteville, NC, Austin Brooks of Houston, Tx, Jenna Brooks of Austin, Tx, Jordan Brooks of Dallas, Tx, and Jeffrey Hamilton of Dallas, Tx. A Memorial Service in honor of Stuart will take place at 12 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Tx 78218 with a reception to follow.
