

Sulema Cantu Aguilar was born on January 24, 1936 in Falfurrias, Texas. After a long battle with Alzheimer Disease she passed away peacefully at her home in San Antonio, Texas on November 6, 2015. She was raised by her parents Tomas and Severa Cantu. She was the youngest and last survivor of 11 older siblings.
She met and married the "Love of Her Life", Alejandro Aguilar, also from Falfurrias, and they were married on March 3, 1956. Their love for one another embraced many inseparable years together.
She is survived by her Husband of 60 years and their four children, Alejandro Aguilar, Jr. and Lydia Martinez, Alva Gardner and her husband Steve, Aldo Aguilar and his wife Rosie, and Alden Aguilar. Also, survived are her grandchildren, Alejandro Aguilar III, Justin Aguilar, Jason Aguilar, David Gardner, Linda Gardner Ruvalcava and husband Ricardo, Erica Aguilar, Aldo Aguilar, and Alva Sanchez Aguilar. Great grandchildren, Haley, Ethan, Justin Aguilar, and Brantly Ruvalcava.
She loved listening to her husband's music, dancing, laughing, cooking, needlepoint, quilting, and spending time with her family and friends.
Sulema touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, November 13, 2015, beginning with a visitation at 10:00a.m., Rosary, and Mass to begin at 11:00a.m., at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church located in Selma, Texas, 16075 N. Evans Rd. Burial services following promptly at 1:15p.m. at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery.
