Susan Patricia Bean/Baker, 79, went to be with our Heavenly Father on April 14, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas. Lovingly known as "Budasue," she suddenly and unexpectedly passed away in her home from natural causes. Her husband referred to her as "CB" for "classic beauty" and usually called her "Precious." We are all devastated that she is gone.
Susan entered this world on May 21, 1943, in Alexandria, LA born to Luther L. and Mildred C. Bean. She grew up and graduated high school in Big Spring, Texas, then attended University of Texas at Arlington, Texas. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Col. E. Jay Baker (USAF/Retired), her only child Scott Baker (wife Rebecca), two grandsons Clayton and Austin Baker, her sister Jennifer Tollett (husband Raymond) and nephews Rad and Trevor Tollett. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Susan lived life to the fullest, the funniest, wittiest and most artistically talented member of the family. She was the "world's greatest" wife, Mother and grandmother. She followed and supported husband Jay throughout 25 years of his Air Force career, establishing warm and loving homes at each stop along the way. She raised son Scott to be a very special man, husband and Father. She was lovingly and deeply involved in the lives of her two grandsons Clayton and Austin and in the early years of her nephews Rad and Trevor. Susan always had a deep and special affection for children and animals, especially dogs. She loved them and they loved her back. Susan was an accomplished photographer, a much-recognized painter and a widely sought-after Interior Decorator. The Baker households were filled with her bold and bright artistic creations just daring the viewer to not be blown away by the audacity of her work. We all loved this woman for her authenticity, her love and caring for family and friends and the spaces she filled with her beautiful creations. She was a gift to us all and we are grateful she was in our lives. Now she is gone. We are convinced God is adding another room in Heaven and took Susan from us to help decorate.
