

Susan grew up in Kingsville, Texas and graduated from Texas A&I University before moving to San Antonio, Texas to work at Southwest Research Institute, where she met her future husband Howard. Susan later earned her teaching certificate while raising two boys and taught for many years in the Alamo Heights school district. After retiring from teaching, she worked a variety of jobs, including local law firms and at the Witte Museum. Susan maintained a lifetime love of nature, art, photography, poetry and friends. She loved the Frio River, traveling, birding, cats, reading, baking and was active in adult education. She maintained lifelong friends who were drawn to her loving, caring nature, quick wit, incredible vocabulary, and quirky sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Howard. Susan is survived by her two sons, John Langan and Eric Langan, daughter in law Michelle Langan, and granddaughters Natalie Langan and Rachel Langan.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
