Susan Miskell Nasto, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on February 16, 2026, at the age of 75. She was born on December 13, 1950, in Long Beach, CA to Betty and John Black.
Susan was a kind and caring woman who made a lasting impact on those who knew her. She valued her family above all else, especially her daughter and her grandchildren. Spending time with them brought her the greatest happiness, and she was deeply proud of each of them.
Though she was born in California, Susan was raised in Venezuela from the time she was just six months old through her high school years. Growing up there shaped much of who she was and gave her a strong sense of family and community that stayed with her throughout her life.
Susan had a lifelong love of reading, especially romance and mystery novels. At one point, she was reading a new book every two days. She always had a book nearby and enjoyed the quiet time it gave her.
In her later years, she enjoyed working on dot-to-dot puzzles, finding satisfaction in patiently completing each one and having weekly lunches with her daughter.
Susan will be remembered for her steady kindness, her devotion to her family, and the love she gave so freely. She leaves behind cherished memories that her family will carry with them always.
She is preceded in death by her parents. Susan is survived by her daughter, Heather Miskell Flores; grandchildren, Jake and Emma Flores; sister, Jean Gonzalez; nieces, Carolina Pachano and Susan Gonzalez; as well as numerous extended family members and close friends.
A Memorial will be held on March 3, 2026, at noon at Concordia Lutheran Church, located at 16801 Huebner Rd, San Antonio, TX 78258.
