Susan V. Soto, a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and dear friend, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. She preserved her strength, compassion, and appreciation of love for family and friends up until the end.
She was born to Mary Louise Martinez and Jesus Villareal Sr. on July 26, 1948, in San Antonio, Texas. She attended and graduated John F. Kennedy High School in 1966, where she met her husband and high school sweetheart, Jesus. She is survived by her life-long companion, husband and best friend Jesus S. Soto Sr., her children Samantha Garcia (Isaac), Michelle Blackman-Zarins (Edgar), Jesus S. Soto Jr; her grandchildren: Bennie, Max, Bryanna, Isaak, Araceli, Noah, and Josiah; her great-grandchildren: Emma, Zalah, Brayden, Raymond and Sereina. She also served as a member and advocate in the PTA organization at Westwood Terrace Elementary where her children attended. She worked for many banking industries, Kelly Field Bank, Federal Reserve Bank in downtown San Antonio, JP Morgan Chase Bank, and then worked for Dr. Cisneros with Infectious Disease before she became a full-time grandmother. Susan had a great love and compassion for her children and grandchildren like no other. She attended every sporting event, all their accomplishment ceremonies and high school graduations, as their number one fan and cheerleader. For those that knew her, she had tremendous faith in the Lord as well as a great fondness for cardinals. A reminder of all lost souls that have passed before us.
