Susan Kay Thornton

She was a member of the elite Lasso Team. She received her R.N. through U.T.H.S.C. at San Antonio and her M.S.N. through the University of Incarnate Word. Susan began her career at Bexar County Hospital in pediatrics in 1970. In July of 1974, she began her teaching career at St. Philip's College School of Nursing. She retired on August 30, 2014. Susan was also a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Susan enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She had a special love for boating and fishing.

Her father F.E. "Jack" Thornton preceded Susan in death. Survivors are her mother, Lois Virginia Thornton, brother, Jerry and wife, Gina Thornton of Lawton, OK; sister, Patti and husband, George White of Garden Ridge, TX. Susan was a loving daughter and sister. She was also the beloved aunt to Steve and Carin Thornton of Lawton, OK and Travis White of San Antonio, TX.

Susan was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church.

Susan was a sweet and gentleperson who will be forever loved and missed.
