Dear Wesley, Maretta, Carrie, and all the family, I certainly grieve with you Susan's passing. She was such a wonderful woman who touched so many young lives in such a profound way -- mine especially. I remember all the bible studies at your home and how gracious you all were to have so many of us over. Susan certainly played a pivotal role in my early walk with Christ. She was such a great example of a Godly woman for me. I am truely blessed to have known her! I have mixed feelings about her passing though -- I am sad for those she left behind b/c it leaves such a hole in so many lives but on the other hand I am joyful b/c I know she is dancing on streets of gold with her Savior, Jesus Christ. Susan was the sweetest and most devoted mother we knew. We were in the same Home Group together and I know she will be missed.

Wes and family, I was crushed to hear about Susan. I want you to know that I am thinking of you and your family. I wish I could have made the funeral. Susan was always a wonderful person and always had a smile on her face. She will be greatly missed by us all. She will not be forgotten. AShley Neal

Susan will be truly missed...she was the most beautiful person inside and out. My grandmother, Pauline, spoke with her often and said she was always happy, no matter what the circumstances. I think of all the children who she helped and loved through the years--what a blessing she has been to so many people. None more precious to her than her family who she dearly loved. Her kindness was apparent even with animals. I recall one Pomeranian puppy that she was nursing back to health because it had "water on the brain". It was apparent no one but her believed it could get well, but it didn't matter to her....she loved it anyway....What a joy to have known her.... Susan is just an angel returned to heaven....

I have many wonderful memories of growing up with Maretta as a dear friend and her Mom Susan, ever present,as a Girl Scout leader, room mother, foster mom and overall a beautiful example of how to lead a meaningful life and to be a good mother. She was a wonderful role model for all of the young people she came in contact with.

We have lost a beautiful friend, wife, and mother. As a family, we often talk about the love and care that she gave Trisha, as well as other children. We will miss her smile, her contagious laughter, and calming manner. My father always said that Susan was a special gift from God. We were blessed to be able to call her our friend.

I will miss Susan's great smile and wonderful laugh. She was such a loving and caring person. She was a sweetheart. Although I didn't know her for very long, she will always remain close to my heart.

Susan was a wonderful person always so full of joy and love, a true friend. I was always in awe of her for how much she gave of herself to everyone and she personally encouraged us in everything. Her passing is shocking to me even though I was aware of her health issues. We had a wonderful phone conversation the week of Christmas and she sounded wonderful. I know she is in a better place in better condition but to be like her and all her unconditional love is a lot to strive for. Our love goes out to Wesly and all her family.
