Susie Gonzales Gavia, age 89, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 19, 2009. She was born December 18, 1919 in Monterrey, Mexico to Geronimo and Carlota Mendoza Gonzales with 10 brothers and sisters. Susie was a self educated and humble woman whom enjoyed traveling, and spending time with family. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Domingo H. Gavia. Susie is survived by daughter, Gloria and husband, Rey Ortiz, Jr.; son, Gilbert G. and wife, Margie Gavia; seven grandsons, Ronnie, Robert, Richard Ortiz, Gilbert, Gabriel, George, and Gerry Gavia; six granddaughters by marriage and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt.
