Suzan was an extraordinary woman, a deeply devoted wife, a phenomenal mother, and a loyal and generous friend who always put the needs of others before her own. She was a shining treasure who radiated kindness, compassion, and unconditional love to everyone she met – including the animals she so dearly loved and nurtured throughout her life. Suzan truly dared greatly for the love of her family, always serving as a selfless, caring, and guiding light for her family.
Her immense strength and resilience were evidenced early in life when she left her home in Turkey at a young age to pursue her education in Germany, working tirelessly to send money back to support her parents. It was during this brave chapter of working and attending school that she met the love of her life, Mike Miller. Together, they shared a beautiful love story and celebrated 56 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2023. Suzan was courageous as she later came to the United States without knowing how to speak English. Through sheer determination and hard work, she raised two children, proudly obtained her United States citizenship, and excelled in her career, rising to become a highly successful retail manager.
She was preceded in death by, her parents and brothers (Murat and Feridun Aksu); and her husband of over 50 years, Jack Michael (Mike) Miller. Suzan is survived by her children, Christopher Miller and Shannon Miller. She is also survived by her sister Sevim Aksu Kaya in Turkey and her brother Halidun Aksu in Germany.
A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 5 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary North, with a small reception to immediately follow.
