Ms. Ellington, I have finally come to realize that Sydney is gone now that we have started track season. I haven't been brave enough to admit she is gone, but now I realize that God has another angel at his side. I hope that you are doing good, the holidays must have been hard for you. When I see a beautiful sunset or a sunny day I know that it's her who is the one making things beautiful. Although she is physically gone, I can still see her in everything. I am six feet tall but told Sydney that I was 5 foot 12. She got a kick out of that. I will never forget the day that she came to my office with heels on and said "Look I am 5 foot 17 today." I was thoroughly impressed with your precious child and even envied her and the confidence that she had in herself. She was such a rare and precious jewel. Please know that you are in my prayers.

I met Sydney 2 years ago. Since coming to college i hadn't really kept in touch with her too much, but my best memory of her is when I saw her over the summer at fiesta tx and she greeted me with one of the biggest smiles i had ever seen. She's someone too special to ever forget.

You do not know me, but I was there when your daughter was in her horrible accident. My son who goes to Clark HS. was driving still with permit and we witnessed the tragic accident. My son stopped the car and immediately ran to her, but could not help. We called 911 immediately. I feel confident that God was with her and she did not suffer. Words cannot even begin to tell you how sorry I am. My thoughts and prayers have been with you since Sunday and they will continue to be. Spanish teacher at Ocean Springs HS before she moved to San Antonio. She was one of those students whose behavior and attitude in the classroom set a postitive tone for the other students to follow. She was very graceful and comfortable with her height. I remember one time I asked her what she was like on the basketball court and she looked at me, smiled and said, "Well, let's just say I'm pretty intimidating." I laughed at the time because she was so sweet in my class, but I realized that this was a young lady who was confident of her abilities without being proud. I am so sorry for your loss.

I knew Sydney last year from riding the bus together and this year we ran the mile together. I think that God has a plan for everyone and that Syndney has gotten her chance to go to a better place. My condolences go out to her mother and father ad everyone who knew her. Well miss you Syd.

I first met Sydney one night while walking in the neighborhood with my good friend Esther Jones and Esther's daughter Amanda. We all lived together a couple of blocks over on Fallen Leaf, and decided to walk our dog that night. Amanda wanted to stop by Sydney's home to show her our dog. It was immediately known that Sydney loved animals, especially dogs, and wanted us to meet her pride and joy at the backyard fence. Afterwards, we gathered at the corner of the front yard and talked for quite a while. A few days later, Sydney visited Amanda at our home. Even though I did not have a lot of time to get to know Sydney, it was enough to feel in my heart that she brought joy into the lives of everyone she met. I am thankful for the brief time shared with her.

I didn't know Sydney, but I have a son that attends Clark High School, and I just want to say how sorry we feel, I lost a son too, but he was a baby, even though he was only with us for 6 days I felt that my world had come to an end, but when we were buying flowers for him, a strange man just walked up to me and told me "you lost a son, but you gained an angel"...and then he just walked out of the flower shop, as fast as he appearead, he disappeared, how did he know I had lost a son, I dont know...Please accept our condolences...

I knew Sydney from track at Clark HS my freshman year. She treated me with loving kindness. Her smile and laughter was beyond belief. I loved seeing her at Six Flags with a smile on her face even at work. Sydney was one of those people whose energy and happiness encouraged everyone around her. I will deeply miss her.  I send my deepest condolences. Syd was a great and funny person. She was one of a kind and will remain in our hearts forever. I first met Syd while working a Six Flags and me first impression was that she was a kind, caring, compassionate, and hilarious person. She made me laugh whenever I was down. And I deeply regret missing her water-balloon fights. The last time I saw her she was smiling and having fun at work. I hope where she's at now she'll remain smiling and having fun.

I didn't know your precious daughter, but last year on the same date, I lost a son. Sydney and i met in track in my freshman year last year. She walcomed me into high school and she was there for me and anyone else if they needed it and even when they just needed a pick-me-up she had a smile on her face and was always so happy. I will never forget her and the memories i have of her. she was an angel, and now i pray that God watch over her and her family and friends. God Bless,
