Sylvia A. Flores, age 98, passed away peacefully at home just one month short of her 99th birthday, in the company of her three children, Cecilia L. Flores, S. Kathryn Rigby (L. Gerald Rigby) and Arthur C. Flores III. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years; her parents; and two siblings.
Sylvia was a beloved English teacher at Alamo Heights High School until her retirement. She enjoyed travels to Europe, Asia, Africa, and Mexico, especially the British Isles and Spain. She was a former member of the San Antonio Conservation Society, loved gardening, history, reading, Scrabble, visiting with many friends and family members, and of course, champagne!
The family is forever grateful to all the VITAS staff for their superb care, especially Kimberly, Marie, Liz, Jill, and Ursula, and to our dear friends, Gloria and Elias.
There will be a private service for the family.
