

Sylvia Jean Laskowski, 83, of San Antonio, Texas joined her Lord and Savior, on Friday, June 2nd, 2023. She was born to Sam and Olivia Martin on August 20, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 62 years, Norbert “Chris” Laskowski. She is survived by her sisters Dorothy Akers, Norma Hall, and Lucy Rumfelt; and her children; Julie Smith, husband David; Samuel Laskowski, wife Lisa; Jeanne Mobley; Mark Laskowski, wife Kirsten; her grandchildren Ryan, Charlie, Lauren, Emily, Audrey, Max, Hunter, Connor, and great-granddaughter, Grace.
Sylvia was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. As an Air Force wife, she was the glue that held her family together as they moved from base to base around the world. Upon returning to San Antonio, Sylvia became an award-winning civil servant at Fort Sam Houston for over 20 years. After retiring, she spent much of her time helping raise her grandchildren and traveling the globe with her husband and her sisters.
Sylvia was a woman of extraordinary faith. Everywhere she lived, she was highly active in the Church. She served as a Eucharistic Minister for both Blessed Sacrament and Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Her kindness and generosity toward everyone were truly inspirational.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10 am on June 19, 2023, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 20523 Huebner Rd, San Antonio.
A private burial at Fort Sam National Cemetery will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
