Sylvia is lovingly remembered by her husband, Richard Ottman; her children: son Vinny and his partner Elizabeth, son Ruben and his partner Manvine, and daughter Lauri. She is also remembered by her siblings: Robert, his wife Delores, Ruben, Viola, James, her brother-in-law Gonzalo, and her best friend and cousin Rosemary Vasquez.
She was preceded in death by her father Rosendo, mother Gloria, sister Rita, brothers Jerry, Robert Castillo; as well as nephews Jonathan and Little Jerry.
Sylvia found joy in her faith and drew strength from it throughout her life. She delighted in thrifting for hidden treasures and cherished time spent with her children. Her warmth and presence will be deeply missed by those who knew her.
Services to honor Sylvia’s life will begin with a private visitation on Sunday, January 4th, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., followed by a public visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and a Rosary from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
On Monday, January 5th, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Porter Loring West. A procession will then depart for St. Matthew Catholic Church for a Funeral Mass from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery at Cordi-Marian.
A celebration of Sylvia’s life will be held at Paesano’s on 1604 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
