Sylvia Rodriguez Ames

Sylvia was born on July 22, 1954, in San Antonio, Texas, to Guadalupe and Augustine Rodriguez. As the eldest of seven children, she embraced the responsibility of helping care for her younger siblings while nurturing a lifelong love of reading, writing, and her faith. She graduated from Lanier High School in 1973 before pursuing college in hopes of becoming a Pharmacist one day.

While working, Sylvia met her future husband Johnnie Ames. They were married in November 1976. Throughout Johnnie's military career, they had the opportunity to travel the world while raising their three daughters and creating cherished memories.

Sylvia will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Jennifer Kemmerer, Kristina Ames, and Stephanie Ames; her five beloved grandchildren; her brothers, George, Robert, Hector, and Daniel Rodriguez, along with their families; and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Augustine and Guadalupe Rodriguez; her sister, Amalia Candelaria; and her brother, Augustine Rodriguez Jr.

Sylvia's kindness, quiet strength, unwavering faith, and deep love for her family will remain an enduring legacy. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
