

Taeko Hyodo Trammel, 86, of El Paso, Texas, died suddenly on December 28, 2016, at the home of her son in San antonio, Texas. Born November 1, 1930 in Oita City, Japan, she is predeceased by her parents, Yoshisuka Hyodo and Tamako Goto of Japan, her brother Koichi Hyodo, and her late husband of 42 years, Doyle Fay Trammel of El Paso.
Taeko, also known as Betty, was a retired homemaker living in El Paso, Texas. She worked for many years as a waitress at the Sunrise Oasis restaurant and the El Paso Truck Terminal. After retirement, she became an avid golfer and an active member of the Underwood Country Club at Ft. Bliss, Texas. She participated in many tournaments and made friends across the city. She even had a hole-in-one. She also enjoyed painting and visiting with her friends and neighbors. She especially loved her family and spending time with them.
Survivors include three sisters, Toshiko Hyodo, Emiko Tsuji, and Fujie Hayashi of Japan; her two sons, Robert (Carol) Trammel of San Antonio, Texas, and Michael Joseph (Donna) Trammel of Spring, Texas, and grandchildren, Jennifer and Mary of San Antonio; Robert Doyle of Plano, Texas; Deanna and Katherine of Plano; Thomas of Houston; Scott of West Jordan, Utah; great-grandsons Alexander of San Antonio, Mason and Isaac of Plano; and great-granddaughters Faye and Riley of Plano.
Private memorial services were held December 31, 2016. As per Taeko's wishes, her remains will be cremated and interred with her husband at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas. A memorial service is tentatively scheduled to be held at 11 AM Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5510 Hondo Pass Dr. in El Paso, Texas.
