
Taylor was born and raised in San Antonio, attended Jefferson High School, Texas A&M University and proudly served in WWII with the 375th Field artillery BN 100th Division. After WWII, he worked in retail and later, in finance and banking.
In 1982, he retired from Northside State Bank. Taylor was married for 67 years to the love of his life, Marie Proctor.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marie; three children: Gay Schweppe, Linda McCrary Rod and Stan Garner Sue; five grandchildren: Guy Schweppe Leah, Julie Leal Mike, Brent McCrary, Jennifer Coronado Dan and Shaunna Garner; seven great-grandchildren: Abigail, Madelyn and Camille Schweppe, James Leal, Lauren McCrary, Mark and Luke Coronado.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all the caregivers from At Your Service, Skilled Nursing Facility at the Forum and the Staff at Northeast Baptist Hospital for their care and compassion.

Interment will be private. Pallbearers will be Rod McCrary, Brent McCrary, Dan Coronado, Mike Leal, Guy Schweppe and Dr. Bill Montgomery.
