Teresa Lorene Herring Ruiz 66, gained her angel wings and was welcomed into her heavenly home the morning of Thursday, February 13, 2025 surrounded by some of her loving sisters. She was the daughter of Howard and Carol Herring.
Terry spent most of her life in San Antonio and attended McCollum High School. She was a proud mother and grandmother and spent endless hours caring for and loving her beautiful Cocker Spaniel fur babies throughout the years. Her precious fur baby Dolly had just visited her at the Hospice Center and immediately went to her bedside upon arrival. Dolly then snuggled upon the bed on her mommas chest as she had always done prior to Terrys hospitalization.
Terry worked as a contractor for the US Government at Kelly and Lackland AF Bases when she was younger. She was known by her family as the family comedian displaying a sarcastic sense of humor and always had them in stitches when telling her jokes. She had hobbies of swimming, sunbathing, arts and crafts, had a love for flowers and was gifted with a green thumb and excellent gardening skills.
She most recently enjoyed making crafts and playing Bingo with others while in the Remington Transitional Care Facility. She loved her stay there so much that she commented several times about how she’d like to live there.
Teresa is survived by her sisters; Cindy, Denise, Pamela (Kenny) Brenda (Steve), Melissa, Rebecca and Angela. Sons, Russell and Andrew and her grandchildren Maxwell, Russell Jr, Heaven, Michael, Rachael and Alec and Nathan, Kimberly, Miracle, Angel, and Dallas and her great granddaughter Delilah Terry, numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary J. Carleton, father Howard, mother Carol, daughter Stacie Sing Aguero and grandson Devin Aguero.
While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing Terry is no longer suffering and is now pain free in her heavenly home with our Lord Jesus Christ.
Teresa lived her life the best she knew and always on her own terms.
She was honored and remembered by her immediate family and her closest friends during a Celebration Of Her Life on Monday, March 10 from 2-4 pm at Harlandale United Methodist Church.
