Terri Sue Belton Winnon, 76, died on June 19, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. She may have died of a broken heart; she was widowed less than a month ago when her spouse of 58 years, Jesse, left her to go spend eternity with the Lord. June 19th was also the 24th Anniversary of her own beloved Mothers death.
Terri was born July 31, 1940 in Monroe, Louisiana. She was the firstborn child of William Lawrence & Dorothy Pearl Bradshaw Belton, and spent a happy childhood being spoiled not only by them, but by her beloved Grandmother Maude Miller Belton "Nannie".
She was the first one in her family to attend college, and graduated from Northeast Louisiana State College in 1970 with a BSN in Nursing. She did that while raising 3 kids, making the Dean's List every semester. She spent most of her career working as a Labor and Delivery nurse, bringing new lives into the world.
She loved cooking and traveling, both of which she did as often as she could. She and her husband spent many summers working at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, pulling their trailer up those harrowing mountain curves and enjoying the beautiful views of the Canyon, and each other. She also had a love of baseball that came from going to games with her own Daddy when she was a child.
She is survived by her 3 children, Kimberly Winnon AmRhein (Fred) of San Antonio, Texas, Connie Winnon Rowe (Forrest) of Spring, Texas, and Steven Mark Winnon (Terri) of Conroe, Texas; 4 grandchildren, Travis Winnon, Jessica AmRhein, Bailey AmRhein & Grace Winnon. She is also survived by her brother, Larry David Belton (Lisa) of Houma, Louisiana and her sweet little dog, Casey.
She is preceded in death by her beloved spouse of 58 years, Jesse Franklin Winnon, and her parents, William Lawrence and Dorothy Pearl Bradshaw Belton.
Go be with Daddy; you have been separated long enough.
Visitation will be held at Porter Loring North on Thursday, June 29th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 30th at 9:30 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
