I knew Mr. Gilbert when they lived on Lorelei at Baywater. In the early 1970s, and my best friend at that time was his son, Todd. But the grown-ups that knew us called us Big Todd and Little Todd.

I did not know that Todd had passed.

Terry was my bro. 
We worked together at the front door.
We were roommates for years . 
He moved out to Vegas when I relocated to open a landscape co. 
Me him and Manuel were great friends . 
After Scatch the three of us would get together in Vegas .
There was never a dull moment.

I first met Terry, Pete Ortega and Frank Goodish at San Antonio Health Studio. You could not find nicer people who went out of their way to help a novice like me. "T" could always find a way of creating interesting situation's which, when looking back, added alot of humor and good memories. I visited him a few times in Las Vegas. His friendship will be missed. I worked with Terry Gilbert at Scratch Nightclub in San Antonio Texas for many years. Terry was one of the best friends I have ever had. Terry was one of my room mates back in the 1980s. I could always remember at Terry house that his large dog would take the food off the grill when we had a cook out in the back yard. Terry was always a fun one to be around and work with. I am going to miss Terry, he was the most giving person I ever had the priveledge to know. I will always have a place in my heart for him.

I would like to send my sympathy to Terry Gilbert?s family. My name is Frank Frankie Stapper. I was a member of the San Antonio Health Club where Terry worked out. I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma now and heard from several members of the old gym about Terry?s passing. I visit San Antonio often, and Benjie Davis and I went by Terry?s work probably 2 years ago but it was his day off so I was unable to see him, which I regret. There are so many things that stand out about Terry, but the two that I remember best are: 1 The time he shaved his head and went to ?Night in Old San Antonio? with me and other members of the gym. I happened to overhear two policemen talking to one another and one said to the other that we need to keep an eye on the big bald oriental guy because he could be trouble. We didn?t think about it at the time when he shaved his hair that it did make him look a little bit Asian. We all got a big laugh out of that. 2 There was a movie producer in San Antonio who was looking for a big mean guy to play a part in his movie and Terry tried out for the part. He was turned down because the producer told him that he was too ?pretty? for the part. That movie might have been ?Rolling Thunder? but I?m not for sure. Pete Ortega got the part. Again I express my sincere sympathy and know that all the gym members will miss Terry ?The T? as we called him.

I have been a friend of Terry's since 1970. I just received notice last night to late to attend. I am very sorry for your loss. I would appreicate one of the family contacing me either by e mail or at home 210-499-1454. Charlie Doege

My deepest sympathies.. I worked with Terry for many years at Scratch nightclub, and spent many days at the gym with him. Terry was the greatest, most giving person I ever had the priveledge to know. He would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. I will always have a place in my heart for the biggest nice guy I ever met. I smile everytime I think of him driving around town with that big dog in the back of his monte carlo.
