Texas Scott Penrod

Texas leaves an extraordinary legacy of love and generosity to her five children, ten grandchildren, one great-grandson, numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She will be greatly missed.

Texas was a 60 year member of Christ Episcopal Church, which she dearly loved.

She was an active participant in numerous outreach missions, the altar guild, and her beloved art group.

She took great pride in a two year course, becoming a certified spiritual director, which allowed her to live into her great capacity for love and compassion.

Texas loved the Texas Coast and spending time creating beautiful watercolors.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters; June Scott Hightower, Frances Scott Smith, and Mary Ann Scott.

She is survived by her brother Hilary Herbert Scott of California, her children; The Reverend Scott Penrod and his wife Alice Lee of Pharr, TX, Karen and her husband Baker Duncan III, Lynn and her husband Rick Lieber, Amy and her husband Tom Lott, and her son Bill Penrod.

She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Christopher Tidwell, Sadie, Addison and Adam Duncan, Taylor, Camilla and Sam Lieber, Jessica and Abby French, Alexandra Penrod, and great-grandson Zarek.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Mission Committee or the Altar Guild of Christ Episcopal Church, 510 Belknap Place, San Antonio, Texas 78212.

A private inurnment will be in the Bishop Jones Center at a future date.
