
Thelma Register Green died at her home in San Antonio, Texas, on June 6, 2005. A native of Jackson, MS, Mrs. Green was a long time resident of Hattiesburg. She attended the University of Southern Mississippi and was a musician.
Active in community life, she was an officer of the Norvell Robertson chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a charter member of the Vestalia Literary Club, an officer of the Hattiesburg Junior Auxiliary, and the Mississippi Republican Women.
She was an active member of University Baptist Church and served as a deacon. A devoted mother, she was active in various Parent-Teacher Organizations in the Hattiesburg School District. After marriage to Col. Ret. Henry G. Green, they made San Antonio their home. She was a loyal member of the Woodland Baptist Church and enjoyed volunteering with the 4th St. Cafeteria. She worked tirelessly in support of the Air Force Retired JAG Association in which her husband served as President.
As well, she worked on orchestra luncheons for the San Antonio Symphony League. Her gracious style earned her many friends wherever she went. She is survived by her husband, Colonel Henry Green, U.S. Air Force, Retired; sons, Grady L. Myrick, Jr. and wife Myra, Lance Myrick and wife Susan of Hattiesburg; daughter, Lisa Lloyd of Jackson and Leigh Buckley and husband Edward of Stringer, MS; brother, Wayne Register and wife Patsy of Hattiesburg and eleven grandchildren.
