Thelma Kohler

Thelma "Rosie" L. Stottlemyer Kohler, age 79, passed away Friday, March 10, 2006, peacefully in the home of her eldest son and family, Dr. P. David Kohler of Helotes San Antonio, Texas, after a short bout with pancreatic cancer. Another son, Jonathan B. Kohler of Hudsonville, Michigan, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren survive her.

The daughter of Benjamin F. Stottlemyer and Helen Wiley Strickler, she was born in York, Pennsylvania on October 22, 1926, and resided in Grand Rapids, MI, for nearly forty years before relocating to Sun City Hilton Head, SC, in 1998.

She is a member of the graduating Class of 1944 of West York High School, and attended Davenport College, Grand Rapids MI. She will be most remembered for her rosy disposition and friendly smile, her avid passion for the game of bridge and golf and her two holes-in-one.

At her request, no funeral services were conducted following her cremation. Distribution of the remains will be in a private ceremony designated later.
