

Theresa Cecilia Hinojosa Sanchez, 83, passed away on Sunday, December 12th, 2021. A San Antonio native, she was born on November 22nd, 1938, to Juan and Eulalia Hinojosa. Theresa graduated from San Antonio Tech High School in 1957, where she was a sponsor in ROTC. She met Eduardo Sanchez while in high school, and they were married in 1962. Theresa and Eduardo lived in Albany, GA and Topeka, KS before returning to San Antonio in 1972 shortly after the birth of their son, David. Theresa had a successful 36 year career as a government civil servant during which she attained a GS-12 classification. She retired in 1994, and pursued her hobbies as a seamstress and florist. Theresa was an active member of the San Antonio Chapter of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, NARFE.
Theresa was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and grandaunt. She had a generous heart and was dedicated to helping family and friends in any way she could offer. Theresa loved to travel, and always invited family members to join her on her excursions. Theresa was happiest when she was involved in family events and surrounded by her loved ones.
Theresa Sanchez is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Eulalia Hinojosa, and her brothers, Juan and Armando Hinojosa. Theresa is survived by her loving husband, Eduardo Sanchez; son and daughter-in-law, David Edward and Susie Sanchez; grandchildren, David Edward, Jr. and Caroleena Isabella Sanchez; sister-in-law, Gloria Hinojosa, numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, and many loving friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Porter Loring Mortuary on McCullough with rosary beginning at 7 pm.
Fr. Martin Parayno will officiate the mass. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Providence Catholic School, 1215 N.
