

Therwin Books Shepler, age 85, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on January 14, 1926 in Cleona, Pennsylvania to Paul & Anna Shepler. Known as “Bud” to all, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He joined Gerard Masonic Lodge in Cincinnati, Ohio and was a mason for over 50 years. He was a home builder and remodeler in San Antonio for over 40 years, SHEPLER HOMES. He was also an artist in wood puzzle pictures, Intarsia. Therwin is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Agnes Shepler; Patricia Ann Shepler, the mother of his children and his son, Stephen J. Shepler. Survivors include his sister, Leah Brandt; his daughter, Frances G. Brock & husband, Todd; son, Stewart T. Shepler; daughter-in-law, Connie Shepler; and grandchildren, Robert T. Brock & wife, Sonja, Clayton J. Brock, Gary L. Brock & wife, Roberta, Stephanie Shepler, Jason Shepler & wife, Tami, and Michael Shepler. He also has 9 great-grandchildren. Visitation will take place from 5-8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Timothy Tate officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
