Thomas D. DeLaGarza

Thomas “Tommy” De La Garza, age 74, died in his home in San Antonio, Texas on December 12, 2019. The son of Joe and Inocencia De La Garza, he was born in San Antonio on October 1, 1945. Tommy lived most of his adult life in San Antonio, and was proud to be a longtime Southwest Airlines employee who worked his way up in the organization from a grounds crew job to the position of Building Coordinator for the company’s reservations centers. Tommy loved his extended family, and enjoyed travel, golf, and his volunteer work as a Life Member of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, where his efforts were focused on the Family Fair Committee.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Tammy; children, Connie Trujillo, Erika Wade, Thomas De La Garza, Jr., Elizabeth De La Garza and Rebecca De La Garza; siblings Joe Robert De La Garza, Jr., Edward De La Garza, Mike De La Garza, Jody De La Garza, Sally De La Garza, Rachel VanDerKnaap, Jo Ann Kirby, and Andrew De La Garza; and many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Danny De La Garza.

Services are private. Those wishing to honor Tommy’s life may make a donation in his name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
