Thomas David Dobbs, Sr.

Thomas David Dobbs, Sr, 79, died in San Antonio, Texas on Wednesday, October 1st, 2008. He was born in Hempstead, Texas on May 12, 1929, and earned a B.B.A from Baylor University in 1951. A pilot, Mr. Dobbs enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951, and retired in 1973 at the rank of Major. He was awarded the Silver Star and the Purple Heart for his service in the Vietnam War.

Mr. Dobbs is survived by Lou Dobbs, his wife of 55 years; his children and their spouses Nancy L. Dobbs & Jeff D. Nye, Linda S. Dobbs & Bill Leddy, Carol A. Dobbs McDonald & Gordon McDonald, Thomas David Dobbs, Jr. & Heidi Cruz; grandchildren Aidan E. Leddy, Erin K. Leddy, Liam Leddy, Kathleen S. McDonald, Maximilian L. Dobbs, and Tobias A. Dobbs; brother Herman A. Dobbs Jr.; sister Lorene Jackson; and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Herman A. Dobbs Sr. and Susan Frances Dobbs; his sister Anita Mormon, and his brother-in-law Joe Mormon.

The family wishes to extend their deep appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the ICU at the Methodist Hospital of San Antonio, Texas.
