

He was born in Phenix City, Alabama on May 26,1931. He grew up in Phenix City and graduated from Central High School in 1949. Tom became a Marine in 1952 and a Border Patrol Agent in Del Rio in 1955. He was introduced to his wife of 69 years, Shearley Alexander, at First Baptist Church Del Rio by Shearley’s father and they were married on March 8, 1957 in Del Rio.
Tom retired as an Immigration Investigator in 1983 after over 25 years of service.
He especially enjoyed being outside in the mornings with the Lord, greeting at Alamo City Church on Sundays, reading, working crossword puzzles, and taking walks around the neighborhood while enjoying his pipe. He had a genuine heart for serving others gladly, always helping his neighbors and friends without hesitation.
He is survived by his wife, Shearley Forrest; children, Louise Forrest and Mark Braue, Tommy and Leslie Forrest, Joey and Katie Forrest; grandchildren, Raleigh and Jillian Forrest, and Chloe Forrest; brother, David and Cathy Clayton; sister, Dot Jones; nephews, Gary and Carol Leonard, Chip and Kris Macon. He is also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Rosa Forrest; siblings, Charles Forrest, Margie Forrest and Corine Franklin; parents-in-law JB and Louise Alexander; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, James Lee and Patricia Leonard, BT and Jo Lou Foster; nephew, Randy Leonard.
Graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home in San Antonio, 1701 Austin Hwy, on March 20th at 3:30 in the afternoon.
